Unlike most themes (free
or paid), Convertify allows you to customize your 'Cart' page and add all kinds of content
besides the standard cart contents table and the checkout button. Plus, Convertify offers several built-in
Cart Page Power-Ups that will help you win the trust of your customers, create a sense or urgency, highlight savings, highlight free (or discounted) shipping, encourage customers to add more products to their cart, and more. These Power-Ups are proven to boost your store's conversion rate and get customers to actually click the checkout button and complete their purchase.
Rather than just jumping straight to the 'Cart' page in Theme Editor, you should first navigate to any product page in Theme Editor and add that item to your cart (as if you're going to buy it). This way, when you navigate to the cart page, you'll see what it actually looks like with an item in the cart.
Once you've added at least one item to your cart, navigate to the 'Cart' page in Theme Editor by either a) clicking the cart or bag icon in the main site preview panel, or b) selecting 'Cart' in the navigation dropdown in the top panel of Theme Editor.
When the page loads, you'll see that the left panel includes the following sections in the middle page body area:
'Cart Page' Section
The 'Cart Page' section has the following settings (which will be shown in the right panel after you click the 'Cart Page' section title in the left panel):
- Page title - Enter the heading/title you want to appear at the top of the 'Cart' page.
- Title font size - Use the slider to specify the font size of the page title.
- 'Continue shopping' link destination - Click into the field to select which page on your site you want visitors to be taken to when they click the 'Continue shopping' link (which appears in the top-left corner of the cart contents grid).
'Items' Section
This section contains the standard cart page grid (or table) that lists all of the items in the customer's cart.
When you click the 'Items' section title in the left panel, the right panel will show a single customization field that allows you to indicate whether you want to show the vendor name (i.e. brand name) of the item(s) in the cart.
'Subtotal' Section
This section contains 2 blocks within it:
- The 'Subtotal price' (i.e. the sum of all items in the cart, not including sales tax, shipping or other fees), and
- The 'Checkout button'.
No customization options are available for either of these 2 blocks. (Even if you click the 'Add block' link, there aren't any more blocks available to add. This link is only available to re-add one of the 2 original blocks if you previously deleted them).
However, there is one setting for the 'Subtotal' section itself. If you click on the 'Subtotal' section title in the left panel, you'll see that the right panel has a single checkbox for you to activate (or deactivate) the 'cart note' field (where the customer can type in a note for the order). When activated, this adds a 'Add order note or instructions' checkbox just underneath the checkout button. If the customer checks the box, a field appears below so the customer can add order notes.
'Add Section' Link
You can use this link to add all kinds of additional sections of content to the 'Cart' page. You can configure this additional page content to appear either above or below the 'Items' section (table) and the 'Subtotal' section. Following is the list of
Convertify's universal sections that can be added to any page, including the 'Cart' page:
You will use the left panel to create all of the sections (i.e. page components) you want to appear on the 'Cart' page.
You can reorder the sections by hovering over the section you want to move and then using the move icon to drag & drop it to its desired location. If you want to temporarily hide a section (but not delete it), hover over the section title and click on the eye icon that appears. (To later reactivate that section, just click on the stricken-through eye icon.) To permanently delete a section, click the section title in the left panel and then click the 'Remove section' link at the bottom of the right panel.
