Convertify offers a wide range of customization options for collection pages (which, if you are not familiar with Shopify, are essentially category or sub-category pages). You can make your collection pages look like pretty traditional collection pages (i.e. title up top, short textual description, sort & filter options and a product listing grid), look more like a home page (with all kinds of different blocks of content and layouts and grids), look more like a product page (highlighting features and images of the product(s) within the collection) or something of a hybrid of the above. Convertify is extremely robust, and yet very easy to configure.
Building your collection page template is very similar to building your home page. Just like with creating your home page, you'll use the left menu to add, modify, re-order and delete sections (i.e. blocks of content) for the collection page. The main difference is that for collection pages most of the actual content of the page (i.e. collection title, image, description, etc.) is dynamically pulled in from Shopify (for each individual collection page) rather than created in Theme Editor. You're really just using Theme Editor to configure the collection page template (i.e. layout)... but the actual content for each of the collection pages comes from Shopify.
This guide is organized into 4 parts:
- 'Collection Page' section (i.e. title, description and/or image)
- 'Product grid' section (i.e. sort/filter options and grid of products)
- Add more sections to collection pages (optional)
- Collection page Power-Ups
After navigating to a collection page within Theme Editor (using either the navigation dropdown in the top panel or by clicking menu options/links within the main preview panel), you will use the left panel to create all of the sections (i.e. page components) you want to appear on your store's collection pages.
You can reorder the sections by hovering over the section you want to move and then using the move icon to drag & drop it to its desired location. If you want to temporarily hide a section (but not delete it), hover over the section title and click on the eye icon that appears. (To later reactivate that section, just click on the stricken-through eye icon.) To permanently delete a section, click the section title in the left panel and then click the 'Remove section' link at the bottom of the right panel. (Note: The 'Collection banner' and 'Product grid' sections cannot be deleted, but they can be hidden.)
Remember, in the Shopify Theme Editor you'll be creating the collection page template to be used for all collection pages site-wide. Therefore, you won't want to create content in Theme Editor that is only applicable to one specific collection. Collection-specific content should be created on the collection pages within Shopify, not in Theme Editor.
